Following 15 months of historic changes involving the men and women of Mountain Home Air Force Base, the nearby installation welcomed its new leader during a ceremony Monday morning.

Following more than 200 years of military tradition, Col. Ronald D. Buckley accepted command of the 366th Fighter Wing from Col. John D. Bird II.

"It's an important day in the life of the Gunfighters," said 12th Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Glenn Spears, who officiated Monday's event. "The Air Force has sent us another fine leader to serve with the 366th (Fighter) Wing. We are confident that this will be a seamless and successful transition."
