Celebrating its 20th year of providing alternative education for teens in the local community, Richard McKenna Charter High School honored nine of its students during its graduation ceremony Saturday morning.

Last week's commencement held additional meaning for the charter school, which finished its first full year at its new campus in Mountain Home.

Over the past two decades, the school targeted at-risk teens to help them reach their education goals, according to school director Larry Slade. During this time, McKenna has served thousands of students with more than a thousand of them walking across the stage to receive their diplomas.
