Tuesday, May 25, 2010

St James Episcopal Church announces its summer plans. Worship and Holy Eucharist, with visiting guest priests, will take place at 10 am on Sundays in historical Old St James Church, at the corner of American Legion Blvd and N. 3rd East. The first house of worship in Elmore County, the building is on the National Historic Register and is air conditioned.

With the exception of June 27th and August 22nd, when the newer facility will be used, this summer schedule will be in place from June 6th through August 29th.

Visiting priests this summer include Pastor Lothar Pietz, a retired pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; The Rev. Dr. Robert Weldy, who always presents a children's sermon; The Rev. J. Michael Mahoney; The Rev. Margaret Kurtz, who includes a healing service along with Holy Eucharist; and The Rev. Robin Finch.

There is open communion at St James and all are welcome. Young children may sit with their families or attend the nursery.
