Patty Smith

Patricia J. "Patty" Smith, 76 of Mountain Home, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at a local hospital, after a long bout with emphysema.

At her request, no services will be held. A private inurnment will be held at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery, in Boise, where she will be place with her husband, James C. Smith. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Patty was born on Feb. 13, 1934, to proud parents Gerald and Millie Lounsbury in American Falls. After graduating from high school in Ketchum, she went on to college to become a beautician where she went to work at the Sun Valley Resort.

She was married to her high school sweetheart, James "JC" Smith for almost 50 years. They were a happy and outgoing couple and had many friends, especially at the Mountain Home Golf Course where Pat was Ladies Club Champion for many years.

She dedicated her life to taking care of her husband, her two girls, and their children. She was kind to everyone and was always helping anyone else in need. She had many travels with her lifelong best friend, Betty Sasz.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Shannon G., and her husband, David Broome, and their son, Tanner, all of Nampa. She is also survived by her daughter, Valerie "Annie" Geiger of Mountain Home, granddaughter Summer L. Geiger, and three great-grandchildren, Jordan, Emily and Kaylee.

In lieu of flowers Pat would prefer you find someone who really needs help and spend your money on their cause. She did this for many people throughout her life and we know she would smile from above!
