Corder an honest statesman

Thursday, May 20, 2010

Dear editor:

Tim Corder is an intelligent, articulate, and honest senator -- a true statesman.

He represents the citizens of this district well and puts the needs of his constituents above his own, working diligently to make well reasoned decisions and tough choices, even when so doing has had political costs.

Our city government has been well served by Sen. Corder's accessibility. He promptly replies to telephone calls and emails, and sends out weekly newsletters during the session to ensure his constituents are informed and understand the issues our district and state face.

When asked, he always responds to our city's requests for action or information from our state government. In short, he is the most effective legislator representing our district, and an extremely effective advocate for our city, county and district in our state legislature.

I didn't always think this way about the good senator -- but over the last two years I have learned a great deal about an extraordinary man who is doing a great deal to help our government run effectively for our benefit.

What Tim Corder says is what he truly believes, and what Tim Corder says he will do, he does. I believe he truly represents us well, and I fully support re-electing Sen.Tim Corder.

As to Marla's comment about my truck -- I can always replace that windshield, but we will never be able to replace a true statesman and public servant like Tim Corder.
