Crowd questions district officials, legislators over levy

A solid crowd of more than 200 concerned citizens packed the junior high school gymnasium last week to learn more about the proposed temporary supplemental school levy.

The citizens came prepared to ask tough questions of school district officials and state legislators.

Sponsored by the local teacher's union, the public forum opened with comments by Robin Nettinga, executive director of the Idaho Education Association, who offered an overview of why school districts throughout the state are facing a financial crisis.
