Buckley to take command of base Monday

Following 15 months of major world events directly affecting Mountain Home Air Force Base, along with other significant challenges and milestones, the leadership of the base will change Monday.

During the change of command ceremony, Col. John Bird II will relinquish leadership of the 366th Fighter Wing to Col. Ronald D. Buckley.

The incoming colonel currently serves as the 12th Operations Group commander at Randolph AFB, Texas. Meanwhile, Bird leaves Mountain Home to become the chief of the Joint Staff's Force Application Division at the Pentagon.
