Joel Twitchell

Joel Walter Twitchell, 45, of Mountain Home, currently residing in Yuba City, Calif., passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010.

A memorial service was held in Yuba City, Saturday, May 8, at a local church. A memorial service was held in Mountain Home on Tuesday, May 11, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Inurnment followed at Mountain View Cemetery.

Joel was born at 5:15 a.m. on Nov. 8, 1964, in Glasgow, Mont. Coincidently, this is the same hospital where his granddad, Joseph Walter Twitchell was born, April 1, 1903.

Joel attended and graduated from Mountain Home High School with the Class of 1983. He graduated from the School of Economics at Boise State University in 1988.

Joel is survived by his fiancée, Jan Kolvet, of Yuba City, children Bailey Eleni and Riley Joseph Twitchell of Fernley, Nev., his father, Joseph W. Twitchell II, and his mother, Anita Hinther Twitchell, both long-time residents of Mountain Home, but who are native Montanans, born and raised in Garfield County. Joel is also survived by his brother, Aaron Twitchell, of Austin, Texas, his sister, Etoile, and her husband, Clint Benge, of John Day, Ore., and by the friends he made during his 16 years of schooling in Idaho and as a rancher in Nevada, and while working in the position of County Executive Director, USDA, Farm Service Agency. Joel also has many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews during his life that he loved and enjoyed.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Walker Center, 605 11th Ave. East, Gooding, ID 83330.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to all who have graciously been there for us in person, in prayers and through such a tremendous outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
