Tennis Tigers pick up win at Jerome

The Mountain Home Tiger tennis team capped off its week with a win at Jerome Saturday.

Earlier in the week, they lost at Columbia and at home to Skyview.

Columbia Girls 7, Tiger Girls 0

Columbia Boys 7, Tiger Boys 0

Mountain Home got swept last Monday in its conference match at Columbia.

In girls singles, Carolyn Bailey lost the #1 match 2-6, 2-6, Natalie Lasher dropped the #2 match 2-6, 2-6, and Shelby DeLeon lost the #3 match 1-6, 0-6.

In girls doubles, Anna Martin and Leah Riley lost the #1 match 5-7, 1-6, and Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger lost the #2 match 1-6, 0-6.

In boys singles, Bryan Wheeler lost the #1 match in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 4-6, and Casey Pehlke and Stephen Bush both lost the #2 and #3 matches by 0-6, 0-6 scores.

In boys doubles, Blake Pachner and Jalen Gibbons dropped the #1 match 1-6, 2-6 and Justin Rogow and Tomas Garza lost the #2 match 2-6, 2-6.

In mixed doubles, Ross Pataro and Brittany Ryan lost a close one in the #1 match, 5-7, 6-7 (TB3), and Drew Borgholthaus and Allie Draper lost the #2 match 2-6, 1-6.

"They played some tough tennis, but could not pick up any wins," said Mountain Home Tiger tennis coach Tamzy House.

The Tigers hosted Skyview at the airbase courts last Thursday, and came up short in both the girls and boys matches.

In girls singles, Carolyn Bailey lost the #1 match 2-6, 0-6, Danielle Lord lost the #2 match 0-6, 0-6, and Shelby DeLeon lost a close #3 match 4-6, 4-6.

In girls doubles, Anna Martin and Leah Riley lost the #1 match 1-6, 0-6 and Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger dropped the #2 match 2-6, 1-6.

In boys singles, Bryan Wheeler lost the #1 match 0-6, 1-6, John Teng lost the #2 match, 1-6, 2-6, and Ben Cumber dropped the #3 match 0-6, 3-6.

In boys doubles, the Tigers got a win in the #2 match, as Drew Hopkins and Tommy Miller won 7-5, 6-3. Blake Pachner and Jalen Gibbons lost the #1 match 0-6, 1-6.

In mixed doubles, Ross Pataro and Brittany Ryan won the #1 match 7-5, 6-2. Chris Hall and Rachel Kowalewski dropped the #2 match 0-6, 1-6.

Mountain Home swept the mixed doubles matches Saturday at Jerome and that helped the Tigers win both the girls and boys matches by 4-3 scores.

In girls singles, Emma Wenger won the #3 match 6-0, 6-1.

Carolyn Bailey lost the #1 match 2-6, 0-6 and Shelby DeLeon dropped the #2 match 1-6, 3-6.

In girls doubles, Anna Martin and Leah Riley picked up a win in the #1 match, 6-7 (TB5), 6-4, 6-2. Sophia Stoltmann and Miriam Forrest lost the #2 match 4-6, 0-6.

Mountain Home picked up two wins in boys singles, as Casey Pehlke won the #2 match 6-4, 6-2 and John Teng won the #3 match 6-2, 6-1. Ross Pataro fell in the #1 match 2-6, 2-6.

In boys doubles, Blake Pachner and Jalen Gibbons lost the #1 match, 3-6, 6-7 (TB5), and Jacob Hanson and Daniel Courtright lost the #2 match 2-6, 1-6.

Mountain Home swept the mixed doubles matches, Drew Borgholthaus and Allie Draper winning the #1 match 6-3, 6-1 and Ben Dearing and Tessa Pachner took the #2 match 6-1, 6-3.

The Tigers were at Bishop Kelly on Monday, and host Emmett on the Base courts tomorrow (Thursday). They will honor their 11 seniors on Monday May 3, against Nampa. on the base courts.
