MOMs group to make "cool ties" for troops

Saturday, April 3, 2010

The Mountain Home Chapter of the Mothers of the Military will meet for its regular monthly meeting at Mulberry Place on Airbase Road this month, beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 17.

Those attending will make a "cool tie" for their loved ones serving in the military. The ties are wrapped around the neck to help cool off troops in the field.

The group also will have directons and guidelines for knitting and crocheting projects to be created later in the year for the troops.

The meeting will be hosted by MOM member Diana Zakrzewski.

There is no fee to belong to the group, which serves as a support group for family members who have a loved on in the nation's armed services. Members and visitors to the group's meeting often help put together care packages or work on other projects designed to support the troops, and to discuss issues among themselves involving their concerns for their loved ones in uniform.
