The Mountain Home Lady Tigers had another good week of softball, winning four games.

Mountain Home 7, Emmett 1

A five-run third inning sparked the Mountain Home Lady Tigers to a 7-1 conference softball win over Emmett last Tuesday at Eastside Park in Mountain Home.

The Lady Tigers pounded out ten hits, three by Nickayla Skinner, who had a double and a home run and three RBIs.

Madison Siefferman and Lindsay Sessions both had two hits. Siefferman had a double, Sessions an RBI, Charde Huntington had a home run and Megan Kelly and Arlene Futch also had hits. Kelly had a double and RBI.

Skinner limited Emmett to just one hit while striking out 12 batters to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Mountain Home Lady Tiger coach Chris Asbury was pleased with the win.

"It was a very nice win. Emmett's always a quality opponent. We gave then a run there in the first and the dugout was kind of down a little bit, but we bounced back and tied it in the second and jumped on 'em in the third, and kind of cruised on from there."

Mountain Home 5, Middleton 0

Nickayla Skinner tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out 15 as Mountain Home won a 5-0 conference contest at Eastside Park last Thursday.

Madison Siefferman, Arlene Futch, Charde Huntington and Krissy Elliott each had two hits, Huntington had an RBI, as did Jennica Quintal and Megan Kelly.

"It's good to get off to a 2-0 start in conference," said Coach Asbury, "but we left a lot of runners in scoring position, so that's something we've got to work on."

Mountain Home 17, Minico 0

Minico proved to be no match for the Lady Tigers Saturday, as Mountain Home pounded the Lady Spartans 17-0 at Minico in four innings.

Lindsay Sessions led an 11-hit attack with three hits, including a double. Arlene Futch, Nickayla Skinner and Jennica Quintal each had two hits and three RBIs. Futch had a double and a triple, Quintal had a double and Skinner a home run. Megan Kelly and Courtney Christiansen also had hits. Kelly had a triple and three RBIs.

Nickayla Skinner had a no-hitter, with eight strikeouts.

"Technically it should have been over after three --we led 15-0, but I wanted to get some more at bats for my girls and got them to play another inning," said Coach Asbury.

Mountain Home 3, Century 2

Krissy Elliott singled in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to help the Lady Tigers edge Century 3-2 Saturday at Minico.

Mountain Home had scored two runs in the second on Rachel Warila's double to take a 2-0 lead. The lead held up until the top of the seventh, when Century scored two runs to tie the game at 2-2.

Arlene Futch had three hits in the game, including two doubles. Lindsay Sessions had two hits, including a double. Charde Huntington and Rachel Warila both had doubles. Warila's knocked in two runs and Krissy Elliott had an RBI-single.

Nickayla Skinner gave up just two hits while striking out 16 and improved to 6-0 on the season.

"I'm proud of the girls," said Coach Asbury. "They got a lot of good experience, and I've seen a lot of good growth in our team."

The Lady Tigers took a 7-0 overall record this week into Tuesday's conference game at Nampa against the Lady Bulldogs.

Mountain Home plays at the Idaho Sporting Goods Tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Lady Tigers play Eagle at 10 a.m.
