Students walk to raise money for school library

Students ran, jogged and walked as part of the East Elementary fundraiser last week.

Students at East Elementary School walked and ran to raise money to buy books for their library during the school's first-ever, school-wide walk-a-thon Friday morning.

According to a final tally released Monday afternoon, students at East raised more than $5,800 for library books during the fundraiser, said event organizer Kenda Schroeder.
