Bob Tindall

T. Robert "Bob" Tindall, formerly of Bruneau, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at a Caldwell hospital from natural causes at the age of 89.

A viewing will be held on Monday March 22, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 23, at 2:30 p.m. at the Bruneau American Legion Hall followed by graveside services at the Bruneau Cemetery.

Bob was born prematurely to Chester and Leota Tindall at Mary's Creek Jan. 24, 1921, due to his mother being kicked in the stomach by the family milk cow.

He started school in a one-room schoolhouse on the ranch. Like so many ranch kids, he was sent to Mountain Home to board and attend high school where he graduated. After graduation, he returned to his ranch life south of Grasmere at Mary's Creek.

He married Edie Re Martin and to this marriage had one daughter, Marie. Both preceded him in death.

In June 1966, Bob married Lillian Sellman of Bruneau. Together they built their Sugar Valley farm and feedlot by improving a school section. With this union, Bob acquired four more children, Jean Campbell of Mountain Home, Chet (Cathy) Sellman of Bruneau, John (Sher) Sellman of Mountain Home, and Bonnie (Bill) Gilbert of Boise. He has 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Lillian passed away in 1994.

Bob retired to Mountain Home in 2007 to live near his brother, Chet Tindall.

Bob is survived by one brother, Chet (Jessie) of Mountain Home, one sister, Bess McKay, of Caldwell, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Ethel Brace, and brothers Jim and Bill Tindall.

Memorials may be made to the Bruneau American Legion, the Bruneau QRU Unit, or the Mountain Home Senior Center.
