Banquet raises $68,000 for habitat preservation
Saturday's Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Banquet was described as "a great success in a tough year," according to banquet chairman Jeff Day.
Day said he expects the final tally to show the banquet netted approximately $68,000 to help fund habitat improvement programs for elk and other wildlife.
In the final days the banquet sold out, the Gunfighter Club on base filled to capacity with nearly 350 people attending the event, which featured raffles, games and both live and silent auctions.
