Restaurant raises funds for shooting victim

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

A local restaurant helped raise more than $450 last week to benefit a Mountain Home teenager during a fundraiser March 8.

The Pizza Hut on Airbase Road held the event in honor of Leonard Partinda, a Mountain Home High School teenager wounded in an accidental shooting last month.

A majority of money raised that evening came primarily from dine-in customers, according to restaurant manager Erin Durham. In fact, the restaurant saw a significant number of people opting to dine at the restaurant that evening, easily doubling or tripling its usual number of customers, he added.

  • Thank God that he survived the shooting, and that he was there to help raise the money. It is encouraging to see a community come together to help those that need help and care so much about other members of the community. I think that Mountain Home needs to have more fundraisers like this to help pay off those hospital bills.
