Lady Tigers prep for softball season debut at Skyview

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers open their 2010 softball season this weekend at the Pre-Season SIC Tournament at Skyview.

Mountain Home softball coach Chris Asbury was pleased with this year's turnout for softball.

"We had about 30 girls turn out. Unfortunately, we can't keep them all, so we did have to make a few cuts, but it was a real positive turnout. The numbers have been down the last couple years, but we had a great freshman group that's going to boost our numbers, and we're looking for that to continue next year with a pretty strong eighth-grade group as well."
