Tigers open season with doubleheader at Burley
The Mountain Home Tigers open their 2010 baseball season this Saturday at Burley with a doubleheader against Blackfoot.
The Tigers are coming off a 13-18 season that saw them win the District III championship and go to state, where they went out in two straight losses.
Mountain Home Tiger head baseball coach Travis DeVore was disappointed with this year's turnout for baseball.
"It was pretty slim. We have some quality athletes, but in terms of numbers, it was probably our lowest turnout ever. It's tough to run two programs here in Mountain Home with the number of kids still playing baseball by the time they get to high school age, and all of the programs we compete against run three programs, freshman, JV and varsity.
