The CLDC, formed last year by the Treasure Valley YMCA as part of a partnership agreement with the Western Elmore County Recreation District, continues to evaluate proposals to build a community center in Mountain Home. The goal is to determine if the district's plans, which include an indoor swimming pool, are feasible.
The $1.5 million request sent to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development came under fire by an independent community group evaluating plans to build a community recreation center in Mountain Home.
A letter signed by Community Leadership Development Committee co-chairmen Alan Bermensolo and Mark Hiddleston addressed "major concerns" regarding the federal funding request.

No real surprises here! I totally agree with IdahoGrinder give the money saved to Parks & Rec. My kids have done a lot with them and it's a great program that needs the money!
Seems ole OM is not so nuts. Great story but there is still more to this story. Stay tuned. Ms. Sellers is not such an "angel" in all of this.
I'm so over the WECRD, it is nothing but a sham, I would rather see the money from my taxes go straight to our parks and rec department, because then I know my money would be supporting the youth of our community, and not a private agenda. Nobody from the WECRD is being held accountable for the shady dealings...
I read the full story in the paper and the editoral by Mr. Everitt. Go figure someone that has been involved in this porject since the begining is still doing whatever they want and is hardly held accountable for their actions. For months we, the public, have been told that the WECRD board will allow the YMCA and CLDC process to work then two of the mainstays in the WECRD go and do something that is the exact opposite of what they have said. Here is a thought, if all that has been reported is accurate, hold these two accountable and dismiss them from their volunteer positions. If they were an employee of mine and did something like these two appeared to have done and I could prove it, then I would be handing them their walking papers. That is just this taxpayers opinion and take it for what is worth WECRD board.
