Doctor issue about money and politics

Friday, March 5, 2010

Dear editor:

Do we have too many doctors in Mountain Home that good doctors are considered expendable?

What possible reason would justify denying the contract renewal for Dr. Alan Jeffrey and Dr. Scott Baldridge. I can't help but think it is all about money and politics, not patient care.

These two excellent doctors should be praised not only for their medical skills but for their personnel skills. Their success is in taking the time to listen to their patients to make concise diagnoses.

We senior citizens not only need doctors who take the time to put up with us, but are willing to take what Medicare pays. The care that Dr. Alan Jeffrey has given my wife and I has been nothing short of top notch.

I for one will seek Dr. Jeffrey no matter where he hangs his shingle. Maybe, just maybe, if everyone follows Dr. J. and Dr. B, they would not only get top medical care, they would send a message loud and clear that patient care should be first.
