The family of a Mountain Home Air Force Base airman who was killed in an auto accident near New Meadows in 2009 is seeking more than $6 million in damages from Adams County.
The family of Capt. Mark Zampogna claims the Adams County Sheriff's Office was at fault for allowing Deputy Leroy Matthews to drive while fatigued on the day of the accident.
The July 26, 2009, head-on collision between Matthews' patrol car and Zampogna's car killed Matthews, 35, and Zampogna, 35, and injured Zampogna's wife and two children, who were passengers in the car.
