Event to honor person of the year

Mark Anthony, owner of Mark Anthony's Purveyors of Fine Cigars and co-founder of the Great Basin Blues Festival, will be honored as the Person of the Year at the 21st Annual Black History banquet Friday.

Mark Anthony, the owner of a local cigar shop and bar, will be honored as the Person of the Year at this Friday's Black History Banquet at the Elk's Lodge.

The Mountain Home Community Black History Committee's 21st Annual Black History Banquet will be held this Friday at the Elk's Lodge, 325 S. 3rd West St., featuring the theme "The History of Black Economic Empowerment."

Social hour begins at 6:30 p.m. with the dinner and banquet beginning at 7 p.m. The cost is $30 per person and dress is business attire.
