After its recent food drive, Mountain Home Junior High School organized an exhibition dodgeball match last Friday afternoon.

The event was made possible by the students collecting 2,333 cans of food during the drive.

The match featured a two-out-of-three game between the seventh-grade intramural champions, Team DOC (Defeat Over Competition) and the eighth-grade intramural champions, the Lakers.

Team DOC consisted of students Jon Oller, Ted Raume, John Rooney, Alexander Dominguez, Patrick Smith, Nick Dealey, Daniel Smith, Tim Blankenship, Kalleen Hodgerson and Kaycee Crockett. Meanwhile, the Lakers squad consisted of students Brandon Reyes, Teresa Fredell, Jordan Pendleton, Michael Bernal, Christian Banter, Sergio Eululia, Jackie Cristobal and Jaisyn Sarrett.

Team DOC won the first game. Due to time constraints, it won the second game based on the amount of players remaining in the game. Team DOC advanced to a match between a group of volunteer teachers who went on to soundly defeat Team DOC after a 12-on-1 advantage.

For winning the game, junior high principal Bill McCarroll presented Team DOC with gift certificates from McDonalds and Burger King.

After the game, McCarroll announced the winning classes from this year's food drive.

First place -- Mrs. Zelkey's eighth grade class.

Second place -- Mrs. Jett's eighth grade class.

Third place -- Office staff.

Fourth place -- Mrs. Pflum's PE class.

Fifth place -- Mrs. Gordon's seventh-grade class.

The event concluded with live entertainment provided by the Mountain Home High School Garbage Can band.
