JV ladies split conference wins

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers came away with a split in JV girls' basketball last week.

Lady Wildcats 43, Lady Tigers 27

Mountain Home struggled scoring points Thursday night at Columbia and fell to the Lady Wildcats 43-27 in conference girls JV basketball.

The Lady Tigers found themselves down 18-6 after a quarter and 24-13 at the half.

Mountain Home went on a 7-0 run to start the third quarter and crawled to within four, 24-20, with 3:50 left in the quarter, but could get no closer, and trailed 33-25 heading into the fourth.

The Lady Tigers managed just two points in the final eight minutes to lose 43-27.

Kelsey Egusquiza and Hailey Belt led Mountain Home with seven points apiece. Courtney Christiansen added six, Keesha Janis had four, Jaclyn Lasuen two and Kelly Robins, one, to round out the scoring.

Mountain Home 41, Skyview 15

Mountain Home took care of business Saturday afternoon in its 41-15 conference win over Skyview in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium in Mountain Home.

The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 9-3 first quarter lead and stretched it to 21-8, at halftime. They led 27-13 after three and a 14-2 edge in the fourth made it a 41-15 final.

Hailey Belt and Keesha Janis both scored in double figures against Skyview. Belt had 11 and Janis 10. Kelsey Egusquiza added seven, Courtney Christiansen six, Kelly Robins five and Jaclyn Lasuen two.
