Parks celebrate 50th

Mr. and Mrs. Ken Parks

Ken and Betty Parks will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 27, 2009.

They were married in Presho, S.D., on Dec. 27, 1959, at the United Methodist Church. Shortly afterwards they moved to Mountain Home, where they both had teaching positions. They intended on teaching in Mountain Home for two years, and then returning to South Dakota. Fifty years, and three children later, they still live here. Their children are: Rosa Lynn Parks (deceased), Kenda (Geoff) Schroeder and Rick (Mariah) Parks. They also have six grandchildren: Katie, Beth, and Ali Parks, and Shauntay, Jazmeena, and Vaughn Schroeder.
