Students from the drama program at the high school performed 'Frosty the Snowman" for elementary students last week.

The MHHS Encore Co. held a special performance of of "Frosty The Snowman" for the students of North Elementary last Thursday morning.

Prior to the show, as the students were making their way into the gymnasium, students began to sing a series of Christmas carols that included "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer" and "Jingle Bells."

As the show began, the children were entertained by a rambunctious and springy elf, who introduced the story of Frosty, a snowman who comes to life due to a magical hat.

Frosty, realizing that, although alive, he can't survive in such a warm climate, embarks on a journey to the North Pole, despite being pursued by Professor Hinkel who is desperately trying to retrieve his hat.

The show featured several unique scenes and characters, such as snow angels, a story-telling rabbit, tropical dancers and Santa Claus, who saves the day by bringing Frosty back to life.

"I thought the kids were great. They responded well, paid attention and laughed so we were happy with it," said drama instructor Taunya Page.
