"We had an awesome third quarter and outscored them 19-5, and that was the difference in the ballgame," said Mountain Home Lady Tiger coach Brent Keener.

Dakota Barrie paced the Mountain Home scoring with 10 points, Shelby Posey and Rachel Warila both netted nine. Charde Huntington and Blas Lord each scored six points.Huntington also brought down nine rebounds to lead the team. Mountain Home outscored Kuna 16-2 in the second quarter to pull away for a 44-25 conference win Friday night in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium.

Mountain Home managed just an 11-8 lead after a quarter, but Blas Lord scored seven of her game-high 10 points in the second quarter and Charde Huntington added five in the quarter as the Lady Tigers rolled to a 27-10 halftime lead.

The Lady Tigers managed just six points in the third quarter, but led 33-18 heading into the fourth and managed to keep Kuna at bay in the final period for a 44-25 win.

Lady Tiger Coach Brent Keener was disappointed in his teams' effort in the second half.

"I think we decided to stay in the locker room in the second half after we built up that 17-point lead," he added. "Most of the second half I thought was just not very good, just real sloppy. We couldn't box out, we couldn't rebound -- I just thought it was poor.

"I was hoping for a little better focus and intensity, and a cleaner ball game. But it was a win, and a conference win at that, so even playing ugly, it's nice."

Blas Lord led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 10 points, Charde Huntington added nine, Dakota Barrie had seven, Shelby Posey and Rachel Warila both scored six, and Jessica Liercke, Arlene Futch and Amanda Osborn each scored two. Posey led Mountain Home on the boards with 12, and Lord and Warila both had four assists.

The win improved the Lady Tigers to 6-2 on the season and 3-1 in conference play. Mountain Home is on the road tomorrow night at Columbia, and home against Skyview on Saturday for a 2 p.m. game.
