Library offers fine waiver for fee donations to aid needy

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

The Christmas spirit is alive and well at the library.

Persons who owe fines might be able to help a family in Mountain Home have a nice Christmas dinner.

Librarians will give a $1 credit toward existing overdue fines for each canned or boxed food item brought in for donation, to a maximum of $5 of credit. The library will allow the maximum credit to more than one person in each household.

The Mountain Home Public Library is displaying a "Memorial Christmas Tree." The tree was put at the library by Horizon Home Health and Hospice. The tree will stay up until the library reopens after Christmas Day. Persons who have a loved one they would like to remember can put their name on an ornament, or write them a message. The ornaments are in a basket by the tree, which is visible from the parking lot. This can be done confidentially as you need not check in at the front desk.
