JV ladies stumble in opener

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers JV basketball team remained winless, dropping a 41-32 conference contest to Middleton last Tuesday in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium in Mountain Home.

Keesha Janis scored to give Mountain Home a 2-0 lead early in the first quarter but the Lady Vikings went on a 17-2 run to build up a 17-4 lead with 4:30 left in the quarter. The Lady Tigers battled back to within five, 17-12, at the quarter's end.

Mountain Home fell behind by eight, but used another 8-0 run at the close of the quarter to whittle the deficit down to two, 23-21, at the half. The Lady Tigers were unable to get any closer, falling behind 33-26 after three quarters and losing 41-32.

Keesha Janis led the Lady Tigers in scoring with ten points, Jasmyne Moore added seven, Kelsey Egusquiza and Hailey Belt both scored six and Courtney Christiansen netted three points.
