Athletes, along with their unified partners and coach, traveled to Coeur d'Alene recently to attend the State Invitational Golf Tournament.

Medal winners from the Mountain Home team were Matt Stewart, who won a gold medal, along with his unified partner, Bob McCoy.

Casey Soboslai came away with a silver medal along with his grandfather and unified partner, Adrain Perrine. Eric Grimmett, along with his father and unified partner, Jim Grimmett, also took home a silver medal from the tournament.

The fall weather seemed to help set the appropriate tone for the event, according to Mountain Home Coach Geri McCoy.

"The weather was great and the pine trees lining the course were beautiful along with the changing colors," Coach McCoy said. "They did a great job and had a really good time.

The coach extended her appreciation to the City of Mountain for allowing the team to use the city's course to prepare for the event.

"With all their practice and hard work, they came out winners," the coach said.
