School-wide H1N1 vaccinations to be offered

Thursday, November 5, 2009

Teams of nurses from the Central District Health Department (CDHD) will begin H1N1 vaccinations of students in the Mountain Home schools Tuesday.

The effort will continue through Nov. 24.

As supplies allow, most students will be receiving the nasal spray form of the vaccine, unless there is some medical reason for them not to.

Parental consent forms are being sent home with students and homeroom teachers will collect the forms.

No shots will be given unless the consent form is filled out.

The forms also are available for download from the CDHD website at: www.cdhd.idaho.gov.

CDHD also is inviting parents of enrolled students who may have siblings not yet old enough to attend school or who are home-school, to bring them to their child's school on the day the vaccination clinics are scheduled.

Students absent from school on the day of the vaccination clinic may still get a free vaccination from the Central District Health Department by calling the Mountain Home office at 587-4407 and making an appointment.

Vaccinations clinics begin, Nov. 10, at East Elementary in the morning and at West Elementary in the afternoon.

On Thursday, Nov. 12, students will receive shots in the morning at Mountain Home AFB Primary and in the afternoon at North Elementary.

Mountain Home Junion High School students can get the shots on Tuesday, Nov. 17, Hacker Middle School students will be vaccinated on Thursday, Nov. 19, and the shots will be given to high school students on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

The schedule is subject to change based on vaccine availability. The exact start times may vary, but generally morning vaccination clinics will start shortly after the beginning of the school day and afternoon clinics after the lunch period.

Glenns Ferry school students will be given the H1N1 flu vaccination by the school nurse as consent forms come in.

Additional updates to that schedule above will be posted to the CDHD website at: www.cdhd.idaho.gov. Information also will be available by calling the CDHD Flu Hotline at 321-2222, which is staffed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Please study your Bible, the H1N1 vaccine is not the mark of the beast. If you will study Revelations you will get a better idea of what it actually means when people are forced to take the mark.

  • Bazooka Man, If you don't want your child "marked" don't sign the release. You make it sound as though they are coming in and forcing all children to have the vaccine. I find it amazing that you presume to know what is best for other peoples children. I find it even more ludicrous that you try to disguise your far out opinions as religious founded.
