Silent auction set for 'artistic plates'

Thursday, October 22, 2009

The Mountain Home Arts Council's Visual Arts Committee has launched its fourth annual "Way Out of the Box" fundraiser.

This year the event "dishes" up a new idea -- plates.

Local artists are designing, signing and dating the plates to be included in the group's fourth annual silent auction.

Plates will be on display Oct. 23 at the Mountain Home Public Library for the Coffee House, Nov. 7 for "Music the American Way" at the high school's Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium, and at Brown Wrapper Framing through Nov. 14.

Final bids will be accepted the night of the council's fourth annual "Vocal, Arts & Cuisine" event on Nov. 14 at the Hampton Inn from 6-9 p.m. It is a family event featuring local artists, music by "Pheasant Pluckers," and Kurly's food and beverages. Silent auction bidding on the plates will close at the end of the evening.
