Trial in embezzlement case set for February

A former employee with the county's department of motor vehicles pled not guilty to five counts of embezzling public funds during an hearing in District Court here Monday afternoon.

Mava Terhaar goes to trial in February with Ada County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jonathan Medema representing Elmore County in this case.

In September, Judge George Hicks to bound her case to the district level after Terhaar waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

She remains free on a $10,000 bond.

Elmore County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested her July 30 for allegedly embezzling more than $270,000 from the county's department of motor vehicles.

    IMO it took so long to be discovered due to a lack of proper oversight but the official in charge of the office. But that is just this guy's opinion so take it for what it is worth.

    HH,

    Have to remember that it has not been proven definite that they have the correct guy in the Orosco case. I caution you about putting the cart before the horse and convicting a person before they are proven guilty. Strange things happen in this county and nothing would suprise any of us. That is just my opinion.
