WECRD plans fun run/walk

The Western Elmore County Recreation District (WECRD) will hold its seventh annual adult fun run/walk, to be held in conjunction with the Elmore Medical Center's Health and Wellness Day on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Hacker Middle School, 550 E. Jackson St.

The two-mile event is for adults of any fitness level.

Registration will take place on the American Legion side of the school (cafeteria entrance) from 8:30-9:15 a.m. with the walk starting at 9:30 a.m.

Participants can also pre-register early by calling the WECRD office at 580-2377.

    Wonder how much they budgeted for this event? Surely not the huge amount they did to promote themselves for the AFAD parade. What a sham this outfit is IMHO.

  • Oh how fun! So, the city will pay for the police, again, and the kids get nothing...and we get taxed. How "great" indeed! Oh what fun!

  • OM: I don't believe police are used... I think its Citizens on Patrol... and what better things could the COPs be doing then helping with this. I think this and the kids walk are two of the best events the WECRD sponsors, you're just trying to put it to shame.

Get back to me when they really start making donations to recreation programs within the community that are a bit more equal to the taxes they have been collecting. yob, when you are forced to pay taxes on any real property you may own---then you will better understand why some are upset. 9 years! Please.
