The Bob Firman Invitational Cross Country meet draws teams from all over, and Saturday's meet at Eagle Island State Park had over 90 teams and over 3,000 runners competing.

The Mountain Home girls cross country team did well, finishing eighth out of 27 teams in the varsity competition. Tiana Svetkovich ran in the JV race, running 27:17.24.

"The team ran extremely well," said Tiger cross country coach Doug Root. "Most everyone ran seasonal bests, with many running personal bests. The girls placed eighth out of 27 teams in the large school division, which are schools of more than 800 students. I broke the boys up so my sophomores and freshmen could run with runners from their own age, and they had good times."

Mountain Home ran just three runners in the varsity boys race.

Dylan Johnson finished 56th, Jovanne Carrizales came in 132nd (19:00) and Gavin Cline came in 145th (19:15) with his best time of the season.
