The Mountain Home Tigers rallied early in the second half but came up short as Bishop Kelly rolled past the junior varsity boys soccer squad for a 3-2 victory Sept. 14.

Strong defensive on the field stymied an opening rally for the Tigers as Bishop Kelly rolled on to a two-point advantage by halftime, said team spokesperson Chelsea McKenzie.

Michael Daniels put the Tigers on the board off a penalty kick early in the second half. Robert Pack put away a second goal for Mountain Home in the game's closing minutes before Bishop Kelly made the game-winning point.

Austin Lucas picked up an assist for the Tigers in the second half while Thomas Guillen made five saves on goal.

The junior varsity Tigers opened this year's season on a strong note, posting back-to-back victories against Skyview and Columbia before tying against Middleton, McKenzie said.

Nampa High School rallied to a 4-3 win to give the Tigers their first season loss Sept. 10.

The Tigers hosted Jerome High School Tuesday.
