Senior Center honors its volunteers

The Mountain Home Senior Center hosted its first Volunteer Appreciation Day on Friday, morning to recognize the retired senior citizen volunteers who have helped to keep the center open.

The volunteers were also recognized for their work with Senior Center programs such as Meals on Wheels and the Senior Medical Patrol group.

Pat Heckman, AARP coordinator for low income tax assistance, was one of the 48 recipients during Friday's presentation. The other volunteers are Cookie Alexander, Mary Amos, Charles and Evelyn Arendt, Gail Best, Paul Brown, Ellen Coney, Helena Deweerd, Katie Dickinson, Weda Dooley, Gerald Fletcher, Rosalie Foster, Magdalene French, Tom Geren, Lucille Gregory, Warren Lesser, Melvin Lillicotch, Leona Lyda, Louise Maycom, Evelyn Maybon, Suzann Morgan, Barbara Porter, Nona Scott, Roslind Sharp, Phillip Smith, Sandra Terrill, Elizabeth Trudeau, Darlene Watson, Margaret Watson, Tom Westcott, Alma Whittleton, Jo Wright, Joseph Yuhas, Pat Zaske, Phyllis Kosky, Carol Crandall, Karen Schindele, Chet Tindall, John Root, Al and Maxine Rathbun, Don Hinton, Delmar Foster, Bob Pursell and Wayne Waters.
