The Mountain Home Tigers picked up two more wins in conference boys soccer last week.

Tigers 5, Knights 1

The Mountain Home Tigers dominated the Bishop Kelly Knights, beating the Knights 5-1 last Monday at Eastside Park in Mountain Home.

Raif Armstrong scored four goals for the Tigers, Lucas Marsh had three assists and Francisco Dominguez also scored a goal.

Fernando Salas had 10 saves in the win.

"That was a really good win for us," said Tiger boys soccer coach Paul Walsh. "To come back after a tough loss to Nampa, the guys really picked it up and kept their heads in the game."

Walsh also said the win was sweet, since they have had some tough games with the Knights that seemed to always go Bishop Kelly's way.

"We've played them tough for a long time, but they've managed to squeak out most of those, so this is pretty sweet."

Tigers 4, Emmett 1

The Tigers went Emmett last Wednesday and came home with a 4-1 win over the Huskies.

Raif Armstrong and Casey Pehlke both scored two goals. Pehlke also had an assist and Francisco Dominguez had two assists.

Fernando Salas and Tomas Guillen combined for seven saves on goal.

"I was a little worried that the guys would go in there taking them too lightly, but they really stayed focused, and we got a lot of different guys playing time, so that was really good," said Coach Walsh. "We were up 3-1 in the first half, so I decided in the second half to bring in some of the guys that hadn't got quite as much playing time, so they'd have a little more experience, and I think that's a good thing heading into the second half of the season and heading into district."

The Tigers improve to 6-3 on the season and 6-2 in conference play. The Tigers had a big conference showdown with Skyview Tuesday and are home against Columbia Thursday.
