Terhaar bound over the district court on embezzlement charges

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

A former employee with the county's department of motor vehicles goes to district court Oct. 5 to face five charges of embezzling public funds.

Mava Terhaar waived her right to continue with a preliminary hearing Sept. 2 at the Elmore County Courthouse, prompting Judge George Hicks to bind her case to the district level.

Terhaar remains free on a $10,000 bond.

Elmore County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested her July 30 for allegedly embezzling more than $270,000 from the county's department of motor vehicles.

If and notice I said IF, she is convicted, I hope she suffers the full punishment. She was in a trusted postion and this was not a one time act. Once notice I did say IF she is convicted.

  • Like I said...this is getting to be a very sad country! Seems these day's people that I know on a certain level and would never imagine them in the paper for any crime. Uh, where are they? A few of them don't live in Mtn. Home anymore. What scares me the most is what is in store for the future of our children. Seems everyday that this country is just getting worse, more crime, so what about the future????????????????
