Wednesday, September 9, 2009

The Mountain Home Youth Center will hold two fundraising events in September to help pay for construction of a new building on West 5th North Street between Taco Johns and Marathon Cheese.

A benefit concert will run from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 19 at the El Rancho Parking Lot at the corner of Jackson and Main streets. The concert features '70s music by local band 360.

The youth center will accept donations for admission, and the center's staff will serve hot dogs and baked potatoes during the event.

The youth center's mud volleyball tournament will begin at 10 a.m. Sept. 26 at the proposed site of the new youth center on West 5th Street near Taco John's. Signs will direct people to the event.

Teams are limited to teens ages 12 and up. The cost is $75 per team, and registration ends Sept. 14.
