City wants to cut down on drivers taking 'shortcuts'

A proposed change to the city's traffic ordinance would prohibit people from driving through private or public property to avoid stopping at traffic lights or stop signs.

The Mountain Home Police Department wrote the revised ordinance following a series of incidents in recent months where drivers cut through parking lots of local businesses to dodge traffic lights at intersections, including ones on American Legion Boulevard and Airbase Road.

  • Yeah I got stopped for that one here about a month ago...I honestly didnt think that was illegal! It is, but thank you to the officer who informed me, and was nice enough to let it go with a warning.
