Letter to the Editor

It was a good issue

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

Dear editor:

I always enjoy your editorials and read them first thing. You are a very good newspaper reporter. We are lucky to have you.

You must have good people working with you also. Your Aug. 19 notebook titled "Objective news reporting is a dying art' was especially good. I have noticed we had lost that.

I also enjoyed Walter Cronkite when he did the news on television. The TV show 60 Minutes does a pretty good job. It would be nice if you could be on TV news but then we would lose you. Brian Williams does good on NBC news, but they keep taking him off to put sports stuff on. News is more important than fun and games.

On another subject I also enjoyed the article titled "Angel Helped Newlyweds Broken Down on Interstate." It really warmed my heart to read that story. It is great to know there are still good people out there. Both the giver and receiver were good people.

Another subject, but not least, is your coverage of the AFAD Grand Marshal. I know Randy Valley as a business man. He is honest and very good at his job. He does more for our community than anyone ever knows.

We are lucky to have such fine people in our community. I am glad I moved to Mountain Home in 1989.

Thanks for you and all our good people.
