High School to get resource officer

Thursday, August 13, 2009

For the first time in several years the Mountain Home Police Department will have a full-time school resource officer (SRO) at the high school, thanks to a federal stimulus package grant.

The Cops Hiring Recovery Program grant for $149,482 will pay for the SRO for three years, with the city obligated to maintain the position for a fourth year.

See the Mountain Home News for the complete story.

  • Who will get this job...Cobos?

  • OM

Is there a reason why you are always so snide and rude? Why do you care who gets this job, I think it's great they will have one there.

  • Lucky45...my question speaks for itself, thank you. The SRO should be a person with values since they will be around kids and attempting to enforce rules. Snide and rude...or practical? I side with practical. Enjoy your day.

  • OM,

Oh beleive me I do enjoy my days even when I get on here and read all times you call people "Idiots," and are rude. You might be practical but you are very rude. You cannot say anything to me that will make me have a bad day!

Just for your information Cobos does have values, no matter what your little opinion is.

    -- Posted by Lucky45 on Thu, Aug 13, 2009, at 12:17 PM
  • What OM can you say about Officer Cobos that would make him unqualified to be around children? Do tell......

    -- Posted by mhg4316 on Thu, Aug 13, 2009, at 5:57 PM
  • OM has no information about anyone or thing. She is simply a tired old woman that has nothing better to do than stir up trouble and agrevate people. I would allow her her opinion and just ignore her untill she goes away...

OM...if you go around this small town implyimng that someone is not fit to be around kids and you have no real evidence to prove it...you are setting yourself up for a BIG failure. Just some advise for you...

  • I did not imply he was not fit. I very clearly stated this:

Lucky45...my question speaks for itself, thank you. The SRO should be a person with values since they will be around kids and attempting to enforce rules. Snide and rude...or practical? I side with practical. Enjoy your day.

Hmmmm...had a wife that stole from a bank over an extended period of time. Husband is a cop and claimed to know NOTHING about what was going on. Guess he (the police officer) missed the extra 100K in the bank and all of the really nice toys, cars and vacations. That was the point. It was you other folks that read more into my statement and called into question "fitness." Think people, think. Here is the stuff I know nothing about.

  • Why was the name even brought into the conversation? That's my question

-- Posted by MrMister on Wed, Aug 19, 2009, at 7:08 PM
  • Because OM does not care what she says about anyone. She will sit here and call people a moron, an idiot and just does not care.

    -- Posted by Lucky45 on Thu, Aug 20, 2009, at 7:46 AM
  • So that you could ask yet another condescending, ignorant,self-righteous and pompous question MM of course! And, the all inportant response from me---because that is the way things work in this town. How was that for ya? Kiss it MM.

-- Posted by OpinionMissy on Thu, Aug 20, 2009, at 7:50 AM
  • Lucky45, that is not true. If it was true, I would post under a different name/screen name. It is so nice when you folks who post like you do judge me. You have some balls.

-- Posted by OpinionMissy on Thu, Aug 20, 2009, at 8:54 AM
  • And one last thought regarding morons and idiots. If the shoe fits and you (the collective you) wears it...oh well. If you say stupid things you deserve what you get. Get over it already.

-- Posted by OpinionMissy on Thu, Aug 20, 2009, at 9:00 AM
  • OM

Just stating a fact that you have a problem with calling people and idiot and moron on here and it does not matter who they are. I guess it makes you happy to call people names, my apologies I foget that you are so much smarter than everyone else....For some reason when someone does not agree with you, you get defensive, tell them they are a moron or an idiot, well not everyone agrees with you about everything, just stating a fact here. That's what makes the world a wonderful place is not everyone has to have the same opinion as you, but most grown ups don't resort to name calling when they don't agree. Have a wonderful day, I know I will and like I said before there is nothing you can do or say to make my day bad. :)

    -- Posted by Lucky45 on Thu, Aug 20, 2009, at 9:24 AM
  • Lucky, I will explain this as if you were 2. The reason for the moron/idiot comment is not because people disagree with me at all. This is a free country and not everyone agrees which is what makes people individuals. What makes people, such as yourself, an idiot or moron is being presented with facts that very clearly indicate things are not right and then making a statement like...well, it is not right and I do not approve but it is okay anyway even if I know it is wrong. Or, here is another one for you. OM does not care what she says about anyone. Well, I do care but I have a hard time with STUPID people and the idea that stealing, lies and cheating are part of normal, everyday business. Was that clear enough for you? I spend a lot of time and money on research regarding things in MH that rook/screw the taxpayers (like the WECRD and the school bond, etc.). If you want to bend over and take it...that is your deal. I do not choose to lie down and ALLOW it to happen to me. If that makes me the town "nut" then so be it. At least at the end of the day I know I did the right thing. You can lead a horse to water but you cannot force it to drink. Say something stupid and then **** and moan about it. Martyr. Hey and imagine this---the school bond that was said to be so needed was a sham. We were lied to. I worked on that issue, with others, and the way I see it we saved this community 37 million bucks. Yep, I am the idiot and the pain in the butt and the mean, old lady. OH FREAKIN WELL!!!

-- Posted by OpinionMissy on Thu, Aug 20, 2009, at 10:42 AM
  • Oh, and while I am at it...I have NO problem with the idiot/moron remark. It is you that has the problem with it. I do not see you commenting on all of the other names used on/for other people on here. If you are going to **** and moan about it at least make it across the board and not just the actions/statements of 1 person. Be consistent is my point and make everyone accountable for the name calling. Now run and tell your mommy that the BB has mean people on it and your feelers have been hurt. This topic really has become tiresome and pretty darn stupid.

-- Posted by OpinionMissy on Thu, Aug 20, 2009, at 10:47 AM
  • First off, I am not an idiot or a moron nor am I stupid, and I did not say one word about your project with the WECRD or the school bond did I. I said if people do not agree with you you get defensive and call them an idiot or a moron. I am neither, I am very well educated. Go back and read what you call people and how rude you are to them if they disagree with you. I do not have to explain myself to you or anyone else. Like I said I guess it makes you happy to degrade people. Have a wonderful day and I hope one day you realize that it is childish to call people names. Have a great day.

    -- Posted by Lucky45 on Thu, Aug 20, 2009, at 10:49 AM
  • Yeah...and I am neither "rude" nor "snide" but upfront I guess could be confused with rude and snide. For that I offer no apology since I have been on the other end of the name calling as well. If you play on the MHN...you had better have thick skin. Double standards. I 100% understand your position. I only have so many hours in my day to deal with stupidity and nonsense and my egg timer just went "ding." You have a nice day now ya hear!

Wow! Once again, a simple question asked, and a blast follows. To be honest, I really don't see the link between the original question and how it becomes a "condescending, ignorant,self-righteous and pompous question". I know the possibility of a tirade educating me of the "link" might possibly ensue, but I really don't see it. What I DO see, is quite possibly, an agenda; since it is well known that the "name" has been discussed heavily on this board in the past. Oh well, my bad.

In order to kiss it, it must be appealing.

-- Posted by MrMister on Thu, Aug 20, 2009, at 8:51 PM
  • Poor MM---so misunderstood. Just had a question and a blast was what followed. PUKE...vomit...spew. Sorry, the "twit" is not feeling well. Enjoy your day and stay cool. Always a genuine pleasure (now that was snide).

-- Posted by OpinionMissy on Fri, Aug 21, 2009, at 8:31 AM
  • Yep, sure looks like someone has an agenda.

-- Posted by MrMister on Fri, Aug 21, 2009, at 5:18 PM
  • OM...How can you be so condescending and arrogant yet still call others out on their arrogance and condescension? I for one find you quite amusing. It kills me how you try top demean someone yet all you do is make their case for them...IN WRITING!!! You should try a stand up routine or something...

While it is OK to give your opinion...it is NOT ok to demean someone else for theirs. I feel sorry for you because you have to live on a planet that has such low forms of intelligence.

  • Kudos "thatguy" you said it.... I think if people are going to post on here they should not act like they are still in grade school.

  • For what it is worth, this article is about the new SRO at the high school. THAT is a very good thing. I believe the majority of these comments do not have anything to do with the article. The high school has really needed a full time SRO, so the news is good. Let's celebrate THAT.
