CD will do a great job for schools

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Dear editor:

Reference Mountain Home News July 8, Article: "Despite challenge, school board will seat Houston."

WOW! I hope the school district figures out a way to contact C.D. Houston to inform him of their decision to seat him on July 21, 2009. Is it a requirement to have a home phone? I know a lot of people in today's world who only use cell phones.

Maybe Mr. Alexander or someone from the Mountain Home School District Office could drop by his house to inform him? C. D. has been a homeowner in this city for over a decade. I have an idea... Try using the same method the school board used to notify him of the decision to challenge the election in court. "I hope he shows up"?

Why wouldn't he? He showed up for a 28-year impeccable Air Force Career. He showed up in the Air Force Times Story in reference to his selection as 1997 and 1998 Air Combat Command's Senior Noncommissioned Office of the Year.

In fact he showed up for national awards for leadership. He showed up in many meetings around Mountain Home for decades. He showed up for Appreciation Day BBQ to prepare and serve meals every year and much more. This man is totally service oriented. Please do not play this guy cheap, C.D. has proven time and time again to be an invaluable asset to our community. He will be a superb addition to the Mountain Home School District 193 Board of Trustees. I don't think you have to worry about Mr. Houston showing up, his character will not allow it.

He will definitely be there! Again Congrats to C.D., and to Mr. Murray for handliing this situation with dignity and grace.
