Szafranski is new city treasurer

Paula Szafranski, deputy city treasurer has been named the new city treasurer, replacing Leanna Whitney.

"After a tough interview process, I was excited to hear that I was chosen," she said.

The position is appointed by Mayor Rist and at the city council meeting on July 13, she was officially sworn in.

Szafranski joined city hall in 2004 where she started in customer service.

"I've learned so much at each position I worked at and am looking forward to learning more, especially attending council meetings to see things first hand.

"I'm looking forward to working more closely with the mayor and city council," she added.

She has been a resident of Mountain Home for the past 13 years and resides here with her husband and their two children .

"My husband, Mike, is in the military and he plans on retiring here," Szafranski said. "We are very active in the community, volunteering both here and on the base, and do not plan to move. We love Mountain Home."
