AARP driving class set

Monday, June 22, 2009

An AARP Driver Safety Class will be held June 23 and 25 at the Mountain Home Senior Center, 1000 North 3rd East St.

The class starts at noon on both days and costs $14 to cover administrative expenses. There is a discount for AARP members. The eight-hour class was designed for drivers over 50 but there is no mandatory age limit and drivers of any age are invited to attend. To make reservations for the class, or for further information, call 587-4562.

A certificate good for three years will be awarded to attendees upon class completion. Graduates are eligible for a premium discount from most auto insurance companies. The amount of the discount is at the discretion of each company.

A driver also may reduce the point accumulation on their Idaho driving record by three points once every three years if they successfully complete an approved defensive driving course and show proof of attendance.
