Glenns Ferry seniors bid farewell

On Friday, May 22, 31 seniors bid farewell to their high school alma mater as Glenns Ferry High School held graduation exercises in the Gordon Brown Gymnasium.

Taylor Owen, son of Skip and Darlene Owen, is the 2009 Valedictorian; Salutatorian is Laramee Fox, daughter of Tom and Nancy Fox.

The class colors were orange and black; flower was the peace rose; and motto was "Cherish yesterday; Live today; Dream tomorrow".

Laramee Fox and Taylor Owen, each, received a special award recognizing their athletic accomplishments. Also earning special recognition were Trinity Heath and Erick Guitierrez who won the Trudy Kent Award, and Lydia Hopper and Taylor Owen earned citizenship awards.

Graduates placing on the National Honor Society and the Honor Roll were: Morgan Acord, Juan Barroso, Laramee Fox, Erick Gutierrez, Trinity Heath, Lydia Hopper, Kaelynn Mills, Taylor Owen, and Benjamin Schwarting.

This year's Glenns Ferry graduates won over $159,000 in scholarships.

2009 Class Officers were: Laramee Fox, President; Johnny Zacarias, Vice-President; Stevi Baker, Secretary; Trinity Heath, Treasurer, and Deicy Sanchez, Representative.
