Home destroyed by fire

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

A home on East King Lane in King Hill was completely destroyed by fire last Saturday evening.

King Hill Rural Fire District was dispatched to the scene at approximately 5 p.m.

The home, belonging to Doug and Denise King, was fully engulfed in fire when fire crews arrived. Fire Chief Bob Janousek said the house is a total loss.

Earlier that day the homeowner had been burning vegetation near the house. Although he believed the fire was doused it later flared up catching the home on fire. Mr. King was the only one home at the time. He received minor burns on one arm, Janousek indicated.

No further investigation will be conducted. "It's just an unfortunate deal," Janousek said.
