Deadline is Friday to apply for MOAA $500 scholarship

The deadline for high school seniors to apply for two $500 scholarships given by the Rattlesnake Chapter of the Military Officers' Association of America (MOAA) is Friday, May 8.

Both scholarships are open to college-bound students at Mountain Home High School and applications are available at the counseling office.

They will be awarded May 18 at the high school.

MOAA is a non-profit organization of active duty, retired, and former military officers and their spouses from all branches of the United States military. Its mission is to maintain a strong national defense and to preserve earned entitlements of members of the uniformed services and their families and survivors.

The local chapter of MOAA meets on the second Saturday of each month at noon at Carlos' Restaurant.
