Seniors will go it alone

The senior center will take over on its own responsibility for providing meals to its members.

During Monday's meal time at the Mountain Home Senior Center, director Ruthada Powell announced that Mountain Home Senior Citizens, Inc., will be taking over the food service program effective Monday, June 1.

The announcement resulted from the recent decision of Central District Health to no longer provide staff and a subsidy for the Meals on Wheels and senior nutrition programs, due to statewide budget cuts. That move will be in effect Friday, May 29.
