Local athletes win 105 medals at YMCA track championship

A group of local junior high track athletes who qualified for Saturday's YMCA Youth Championships at BSU came home with 105 medals.

In the sixth-grade girls' competition, Maeghan Pomerantz took first in the 100-meter hurdles and was third in the 100-meter dash.

Jailen Dittman finished second in the 100 meters. Yuridia Ayala placed third in the long jump. Mattie Bennett was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles and Charity Dodge was fifth in the 200 meters.

The Mountain Home sixth-grade girls' 4x100-meter relay "A" team placed first, as did the 4x400-meter relay "A" team. The 4x400-meter relay "B" team and the medley relay "A" team both finished second.

The 4x100-meter relay "B" team was fourth and the medley relay "B" team was fifth.

In the sixth-grade boys' competition, Cody Simpson won the 200-meter dash. Andre Lucas won the 100-meter hurdles and was fourth in the 100-meter dash. Zach Peterson was fifth in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Jacob Ryan finished sixth in the 100.

The boys' 4x100-meter relay team was first, the 4x400-meter relay "A" team was second, the medley relay "A" team was second and the medley relay "B" team was third.

In the 7th- to 8th-grade girls competition, Leann James won the discus.

Jhorie Kelley was second in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and triple jump.

Ashley Harmon placed third in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Kristen Kreutzer was third in the shot put.

Marissa Streeter was fourth in the triple jump.

Tracy Gordon was fourth in the 400 meters.

Samantha Rogers was fifth in the pole vault.

Shelby McHugh was sixth in the 1600 meters and Jacci Cristobal was sixth in the 100-meter hurdles.

The 4x100-meter relay "A" team finished first, their medley relay "A" team finished second, and the 4x100-meter relay "B" team finished third.

In the 7th- to 8th-grade boys' competition, Daniel Gonzalez was third in the 400 meters and Joey McCullough was third in the 100 meters.

Sean Surwillo placed fourth in the pole vault.

Austin Lisonbee was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles and fifth in the 200-meter hurdles.

Mitch Felton finished fifth in the 200 meters and sixth in the 100-meter hurdles and 200-meter hurdles.

Stephan Lemmon was sixth in the shot put.

The medley relay "A" team finished third, as did the 4x400-meter relay team, and the 4x100-meter relay "A" team finished fourth.
